Last term, we were delighted to welcome author
@alicehemmingauthor, where she spoke to students about her novel The 13th Vampire and led a special writing workshop inspired by our Gothic Horror creative writing competition — held on Friday 13th February (we couldn’t resist the date! 🦇📖)
After break, Alice delivered engaging talks to KS3 classes, sharing insights into her writing journey and the art of building suspense. In the afternoon, selected students took part in a workshop in the library, developing their own Gothic Horror stories alongside a published author.
The competition was judged by Mr Blackburn, Ms Graham and Ms Petri, who were incredibly impressed by the creativity and imagination on display.
