At The Elms Academy, we assess student progress in two ways: informally during lessons and formally under exam conditions. Informal checks help us understand how students are learning in real-time. Formal assessments, held throughout the year, prepare students for the pressure and structure of public exams in Years 10, 11, and 13. By practicing in exam-like settings, students build the confidence and skills they need to succeed when it matters most.

The next assessment period for Years 10, 11, and 13 will take place during the week beginning Monday, 3rd March 2025.

For Year 11 and Year 13 students, this will be the final opportunity to practice sitting a full exam before the official GCSE and A-level exams begin.

• GCSE exams start on Monday, 5th May 2025
• A-level exams start on Monday, 12th May 2025

These assessments are crucial in preparing students for their final exams, helping to identify areas for improvement and refine exam techniques.
